Advantages such as enhancing communication, bonding with family and friends, allowing for easier payment of everyday bills or even self-entertaining and reducing loneliness. Besides, reports highlight that most people aged 75+ only think of themselves as adopters of tech, while others believe it is not designed for their use and others even feeling left behind.ĭespite these issues, we cannot overlook the potential advantages that tech can bring to the elderly. The stereotype that technology is not the elderly’s game is upheld not only by the youth but, by the tech companies and the elderly themselves. Research has shown that over 75% of senior adults require help when learning how to use new tech. As digital times keep changing, it becomes more difficult for seniors to learn to use new tech on their own. In a world where tech is responsible for all aspects of our lives, the phrase “you are never too old to learn something new” becomes more and more practical.
